If you haven’t heard, the future of the Chappy Store is uncertain. If the MV Land Bank purchases the entire Jeffers property, the store will shutdown permanently. Working with the MV Land Bank and the Jeffers family, the Chappaquiddick Community Fund, a non profit fund created in 2014, is leading an effort to purchase the 1 acre lot that houses the store — but we need your input.
To move forward, the Land Bank requires that the store:
• Primarily sell food and other grocery items.
• Remain open at least six months of the year.
This survey will help us understand what you — the Chappy community — want and need from the Store.
We can’t (and don’t want to) create a 'Stop & Shop" on Chappy. We believe we can offer meaningful grocery access on Chappy, as well as giving all of us more choices for how we shop and how much time we spend shopping.
This survey will guide us toward a store that is sustainable, useful, and rooted in the Chappy community.
